"Remote Inn - Seek it out"

"Fitzhead is tiny and very remote - made even harder to find by so many of the surrounding lanes being closed at the moment to lay a new water main. But seek it out - amazing hospitality from Shareen and Emma and fantastic food as well. We stayed for three nights with our dog, Dash. The courtroom rooms really well appointed and comfortable and the resident cats were really hospitable too! Do make the effort to visit - you won't regret it."

"Amazing food and warm welcome"

"We stayed here for just one night. Sat Nav was useful to find this place which was off the beaten track. However, the village was very pretty and quiet, like going back on time, yet well maintained. The surrounding area and views were lovely too. The Inn was accessed through a pretty courtyard. We were warmly greeted by Emma and shown across the courtyard to our room which was tastefully decorated in a modern style with a large comfortable bed. The room was very small but cosy, with the usual tea and coffee but also bottled water and biscuits which was a nice touch. The shower was powerful and the towels and bedding lovely and fresh. Although the room has been modernised, it was typical of an old building in shape and with wooden beams. We had booked in advance for an evening meal which was truly lovely. A good selection and very tasty well presented meals. We were very impressed with the food. The service was also really friendly by Emma's mum and the amazing food was cooked by Emma's step dad. This family run business is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The Inn was very popular and fairly busy considering its small size. Everyone was really friendly, including the locals making for a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was included in our stay and this too was very good. Free wifi was available which was good as phone signals in this remote location were not so good. Overall, a comfortable stay in a quirky and unusual setting. A lovely experience with amazing food. If you'd like something a little out of the ordinary, I would certainly recommend.."

"Absolute Gem of Somerset"

"An absolute gem of a place, perfectly quiet and relaxing, fab evening meal and lovely breakfast. I did accidently leave my shaver behind, however this was posted back to our home address.

Free parking was on the road through the village, which was not too much trouble at all to be honest, perfectly safe. Our room was outstanding, in an annex to the main pub and was extremely comfortable; the bed was so big.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even with a gluten intolerance; many thanks for a wonderful stay, we will definitely come again."

"A good base"

"Had been given a present for going on the West Somerset Railway & ew didn't want to stay in Taunton so found this Inn. Was not disappointed. The accommodated was superb, the food fantastic & the hosts couldn't do enough for us. If you are going on the railway why not make it a week-end with this Inn as your base, you will not be disappointed."
